For our first update following the Open Beta, we are still developing fundamental creative features. Let's dive right into what's new.
First off, as the server is based on Minestom, we sometimes have to implement features which might be taken for granted on a regular server.
We went ahead and implemented the "Block Placement Rules", which is just a fancy way of saying "when I place stairs, it should be facing the direction I'm facing."
We've publicized details about placement rules over here: Google Sheets.
This new tool is somewhat related to placement rules. For the technical players out there, since The Flattening, the different variations of each block are well defined into "properties". You can view those properties in the debug menu (pressing F3 in Minecraft):
The Tinker tool allows you to edit any property of any block using a menu:
Furthermore, you can use the Tinker tool to create "Tinkered Blocks":
These special blocks, indicated with a pink asterisk*, will keep the indicated properties when placed down.
The Fill tool has been updated to make it easier to what block to fill with.
But more importantly, there is a new feature in Block Patterns:
For now, the only available pattern is the Weighted Pattern, which lets you randomize what blocks are pasted into your selection.
Just like Tinkered Blocks*, patterns can be turned into blocks that can be re-used across tools.
Tinkered Blocks & Pattern Blocks can be clicked in the Block Selection menu to quickly be used in various tools that you're configuring.
And yes, you can put a Weighted Pattern inside another Weighted Pattern (up to 2 layers deep).
This tool works a bit like the Fill tool, but instead of changing every block in your selection, you can configure the Replace Tool to pick which block turns into what.
Of course, "What To Replace With" can be a block, a tinkered block or a block pattern.
Since configuring replace tools and tweaking tinkered blocks can be time consuming, there is now an Ender Chest in the Creative Menu which you can use to store your tools and blocks for later.
The Ender Chest is shared across your worlds. Keep in mind this is only the first version of the Ender Chest. In the future you will be able to filter, sort and categorize the items in there so you can better organize your tools!
